Escrow Security
At Noble Escrow Limited, we understand the importance of trust when selecting an escrow service provider. To give our customers peace of mind, we operate transparently and comply with New Zealand’s regulatory standards.
Regulation and Authorisation
Noble Escrow Limited is a New Zealand registered company (NZBN: 9429052124037) and is authorised by the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) under a Financial Services Providers (FSP) licence (Registration Number: 1007612). Our authorisation applies specifically to payment services transactions, which involve the holding and payment of funds.
Other types of escrow services we offer, such as holding real property, are not regulated by the FMA. You can verify our details on the FMA register at fma.govt.nz, including contact information. If you are ever uncertain about any correspondence claiming to be from us, please contact the phone number listed on the FMA website for verification.
Additionally, Noble Escrow Limited is a registered financial services provider under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 (FMC Act). Providers under this regime are defined as entities that hold, transfer, or make payments with client money or property, including custodial services, as outlined in Section 431W of the FMC Act.
Exclusive Operation and Contact Information
Noble Escrow Limited operates solely under the brand Noble Escrow through our official website, nobleescrow.co.nz. Our contact details, including phone numbers and addresses, are listed on our website and match the information on the FMA register. The register information can only be updated by the FMA, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
Other Memberships and Compliance
We are a member of the Financial Dispute Resolution Service (FDRS), an independent scheme approved by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs. Our membership ID is FM6727, and you can learn more at fdrs.org.nz.
In compliance with New Zealand’s Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 (AML/CFT Act), we perform comprehensive KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML checks for all escrow transactions. This includes verifying photographic identification, proof of address, and, if applicable, the source of funds or wealth. For corporate clients, we require KYC documents from directors and shareholders. Verification can be conducted in person or through secure online methods.
Security of Client Funds
Client funds are safeguarded in a dedicated trust account held with ASB Bank, one of New Zealand’s leading banks. This account is segregated from Noble Escrow’s operating funds, ensuring that client money remains protected even in the event of our insolvency. The trust arrangement legally ensures that funds cannot be used to settle business debts.
Additionally, we prioritize cybersecurity and privacy, employing advanced security measures, including two-factor authentication, to protect our clients.
